Michelle Yeoh Stars In 'Mummy: Curse of the Dragon'
Friday, May 11, 2007
It has just been confirmed that Asian actress Michelle Yeoh will be starring in the third installment of "The Mummy" series, which will be called "Mummy: Curse of the Dragon."
Yeoh will play a wizard* in the third mummy film, in which kungfu star Jet Li plays the mummy. In this film, the mummy is an ancient Chinese emperor, a shape-shifting* entity* who was cursed by the wizard centuries ago.
The pair previously worked together in the kungfu movie "The Tai Chi Master," so their latest collaboration* is eagerly anticipated as both of them are known for their martial arts* skills.
Part of the film, which will begin shooting on July 27, will be shot in Qinshihuang's terra-cotta* warriors* and horses museum in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province. It will be the first Hollywood production to be shot in the museum.
The movie will hit screens worldwide in July 2008.
I don't know, but somehow I miss the old Egyptian mummy, because this franchise seems to be getting a bit silly, what with Jet Li dipping his kung fu hands into the picture.
